phpFox 5.2.5 Official Release is here!
This month, we have exciting updates across Clips, ChatPlus, E-Wallet, and more—giving both Admins and members a smoother, faster, and more engaging experience.
Here’s what’s new.
Core Platform Update
1. Stronger Source Code Security – Critical security improvements have been applied across the platform to further protect your site and its data.
2. Easier Installation – Installing your phpFox site is now smoother and more reliable, getting you up and running with less hassle.
3. More Control Over Static Pages – Admins can now choose exactly which user roles can view a static page, giving you finer control over who sees what content.
4. Plus various bug fixes and overall performance improvements.
App Updates
1. Clips- Discover Clips Directly in Your Activity Feed
Short videos are now easier to discover than ever. Instead of visiting a separate section, Clips now appear directly in the Activity Feed, allowing users to discover engaging videos while browsing their regular feed. Available on both Web and Mobile.
Also includes bug fixes and performance improvements.
2. ChatPlus: Express Yourself with GIPHY
Giphy Integration: Users can now search and send animated GIFs from GIPHY directly inside ChatPlus, making it easier to react, celebrate, and express emotions without leaving the chat. Available on both Web and Mobile.
Improved Push Notification Links – Fixed an issue where tapping a push notification in the mobile app could open the wrong page, so you’ll now land exactly where you expect.
3. E-Wallet: Easily Top Up Your Wallet Balance
Users can now add funds to their E-Wallet by purchasing top-up packages directly on your platform. This makes it faster and more convenient to maintain wallet balance for future purchases and transactions.
Also includes bug fixes.
4. Friends- Smarter Friend Suggestions
Friend recommendations are now refreshed more accurately, helping users discover the most relevant people on the Friend Suggestions and People You May Know pages.
5. Groups- Faster Navigation
Browsing Groups is now smoother, with improved loading performance when switching between different tabs on Group pages.

6. Pages- Improved Performance
Page navigation is now faster when moving between tabs, providing a smoother browsing experience for community members.
Includes additional bug fixes.

🔰 The package of phpFox 5.2.5 is available for you to download in your Admin Cp. To update your phpFox site to version 5.2.5, run the upgrade routine following our Update Instructions. We highly recommend backing up your site and database before updating. And remember to check with 3rd-party experts about the compatibility of all the apps/templates you use.
*Important note - Known Issue for MetaFox v5.2.4: Customers upgrading from v5.2.4 to v5.2.5 via the AdminCP may encounter an unexpected issue. This issue is specific to v5.2.4 only.If you experience this issue, you can either follow our Manual Update Guide, or submit a support ticket via Client Area, our team will assist you with the update.
