phpFox V5 (aka MetaFox) is totally different from phpFox V4 in aspects of UI/UX design and technology stack. In phpFox V5, we have redesigned the software architecture and rewritten both the Backend and Frontend. We focus on the Frontend with a new simplified UI design and employ React, the latest Frontend technology, to power the Frontend system. Meanwhile, the Backend of the software which is rewritten based on Laravel, the most popular framework, will expose API for the Frontend (and apps: mobile/tablet/desktop/other apps) to consume. Database engines MySQL and Postgres will be supported at the beginning. Moreover, there's also a new layout organization and live layout editor for admins.
Installing phpFox on shared hosting is simple and quick with a few clicks via Wizard. Certainly, we are going to provide you with detailed installation guide. Generally, you will upload source package on the shared hosting. Then, go to the URL for installation wizard and go through installation steps.
For Perpetual License Holders: You can just pay the difference in cost to upgrade to Ultimate, which is $600.
For Subscription License Holders: Please submit a ticket to our support team to conduct the upgrade.
Yes, all source codes are provided, including Backend (PHP), Frontend (React/Typescript), Mobile (React Native). The source code will be available for downloading in Client Area.
Starting January 1, 2025, Annual Renewals for V4 license holders is no longer available. If you are currently using a V4 license and wish to upgrade to V5, you will need to purchase a new V5 license.
Our third-party apps can be accessed via our phpFox AppStore, and can be installed easily in AdminCP.

You may run one instance per license. You may run a publicly closed and password protected development site in addition to your live site. Further details can be read at the phpFox License Agreement here.
We’ve found that giving clients the opportunity to fully test the MetaFox script on their server or localhost via a 14-day trial version for free is a far better option than requiring a purchase with a refund term. As such, we do not provide refunds.
