phpFox 5.2.4 Official Release

phpFox 5.2.4 is officially here. Every release is a chance to make phpFox faster, more reliable, and easier to use. Version 5.2.4 focuses on exactly that — a meaningful performance upgrade, smarter admin tools, and a solid round of fixes that smooth out the experience for both admins and members.

What’s new?

⚡ High Performance Mode Support

The performance upgrade is the highlight of this release. phpFox is now fully compatible with Laravel Octane —enabling faster page loads, quicker response times, and a smoother experience across the platform.

New App Compatibility: Clips  🎬

Version 5.2.4 introduces compatibility with Clips, our upcoming short-form video app. More details and official announcements coming later this week. Stay tuned. 👀

    Front-end Web

• Admins can now choose how search works — either by exact keyword or partial match, depending on what fits your community best

• Users can now edit the position of their cover photo without issues
• The background color on the registration page is now fully editable
• Blocked users’ comments are no longer visible to the people who blocked them
• Inactive Members Filter – Admins now get a more accurate picture of who’s actually engaging with your community. The logic of identifying inactive members has been updated so the numbers you see actually reflect reality.

Mobile App

• The app now loads the latest content immediately when you open it — no more stale feeds
• Check-in posts now display correctly with all feed info intact
• Menu colors no longer reset after a site upgrade
• Fixed a UI glitch that appeared when adding a new comment

Apps Improvements 

ChatPlus

• The incoming call sound now works properly on mobile browsers

Invitations

• Invitation status now updates correctly once the invitee completes sign-up

🔰 The package of phpFox 5.2.4 is available for you to download in your Admin Cp. To update your phpFox site to version 5.2.4, run the upgrade routine following our Update Instructions.  We highly recommend backing up your site and database before updating. And remember to check with 3rd-party experts about the compatibility of all the apps/templates you use.
