How’s it going? We are so happy to receive good feedback from our phpFox 4.8.0 release last time. It has been a great motivation for us to keep improving phpFox better. We are back to announce the official release of phpFox 4.8.1 and mobile app 1.7.1. These two minor releases come with some new features and improvements to maintain and improve phpFox stability.
phpFox 4.8.1
For AdminCP
This new version supports the Search Filters in the Inactive and Cancelled Member pages. Besides, when adding or editing Block AdminCP, the Side Wide option appears explicitly in the drop-down for Page Setting.
The Admin now can ban users by their email domain. Also, Admin can add and translate phrases in the content.
With phpFox 4.8.1, all the user data in the Database will be cleared permanently when a user account is deleted. In addition, the system can auto synchronize the old CDN Service config to the Asset Handling after upgrading to another phpFox version.
For Users
This update allows user to remove tag themselves. User is now able to turn back to the recent feed items in the previous page instead of reloading and turning to the top of the Page.
Regarding the uploaded file type, JPEG 2000, JPEG XR and WebP are accepted.
Besides the new updates, we have also made some improvements.
- Users can crop the profile photo whether using the external or internal storage system.
- The Blocks now work with PHP Code.
- When Feed app is disabled, “View More” still displays properly in Listing details and items are autoloaded after scrolling down.
- Upload images with high resolution successfully.
Upgrade to phpFox 4.8.1 today
The package of phpFox 4.8.1 is available for you to download in our Client Area. To upgrade your phpFox site to version 4.8.1, you have to run the full upgrade routine as our Upgrade Instructions. We highly recommend you to back up your site and database before proceeding the upgrade. And, don’t forget to check with 3rd-party experts about the compatibility of all the apps/templates you are using.

Mobile app 1.7.1
New features
Mobile app 1.7.1 has been added new APIs to support customizing the items on the bottom bar. We also add an email verification feature to verify when the users change the account email address. In addition, Location Service is integrated into the App to locate users position.
Along with new features above, users can see the number of friends on the Friends menu from now on. Moreover, they are now able to upload Live Photos on iOS app or access directly to a poke after clicking on Poke notification.
Improvements
We have made some improvements in this new version. If users post a link without any image, it will show only the link address without any grey image. Besides, the App now still runs smoothly when users upload a large file in Offline mode.
