phpFox V5 (aka MetaFox) is totally different from phpFox V4 in aspects of UI/UX design and technology stack. We redesigned the software architecture and rewrote both the Backend and Frontend, using React for the Frontend and Laravel for the Backend, which exposes an API for the Frontend and apps (mobile/tablet/desktop/other) to consume. MySQL and Postgres are supported. There's also a new layout organization and live layout editor for admins.

For Perpetual License Holders: you can just pay the difference in cost to upgrade to Ultimate, which is $600. For Subscription License Holders: please submit a ticket to our support team to conduct the upgrade.

Starting January 1, 2025, Annual Renewals for V4 license holders are no longer available. If you are currently using a V4 license and wish to upgrade to V5, you will need to purchase a new V5 license.
