when i did a search, i found it in 3 locations, but when i click on the search results I saw nothing...so if i were to unhide these files, which .htaccess file should I rename? all of them?

ok you wouldn't believe this, but i found the file, renamed it, only to see it appear again and again on its own like it was duplicating itself everytime i renamed it...so I couldn't rename it, because everytime I did, it created another .htaccess file while the htaccessbu.txt file was also there....weirddd.
btw, thanks for all the help, you are very helpful

You have to change the htaccess.txt to .htaccess and if you already have a .htaccess file then rename the current one to htaccessbu.txt or you won't be able to change the phpFox htaccess.txt to .htaccess
