Mobile Photo Upload

Is anyone having a mobile photo upload problem after converting the mobile theme into an android app or using the mobile function without making it an app.

I am getting this information message: Photos unfortunately cannot be uploaded via mobile devices at this moment.

I fixed the mobile photo upload problem. In the Module - Photo - Template - Controller - add.html.php

The first call out is where you get the information message. I had to make a core file change within this file and removed everything from line 15 to 18. Saved the file uploaded it to the server and now the photo upload works like a charm both in mobile function as a broswer and or as an app.

This is a core change and is not recommended normally.

yeah, in Android, but not iPhone / iPad. They don't support it, have both.

I made the same edits but my HTC Android Incredible II gave me 401 errors so you really do need an app to do photo and video uploads because the phone browsers wont or cant allow it or just plain dont understand it

If you come up with a solution let me know and I will buy it! I had the webworthy setup until they fell off the face of the earth. My members loved it. Now if you share a link on twitter of fb to direct to your site it only goes to the mobile directory page which is absolutely worthless. The mobile member base is huge on my site. Continually getting spanked by facebook!

I found out later that it did not fix it all the way. By editing that file only allowed the person who loaded the pic to view it. To everyone else it just showed up in a feed stating that a photo was loaded but not viewable. So, I am back to the drawing board trying to figure out how to get it to work properly. It is funny though how this does work on the android in full site mode but not in mobile. If I get it to work I will post my findings.
