Do the chat issues go away with the add on being disabled? I would not use it if it is causing problems. I am not familiar with their products and so I don't know if they modify source or if it is even the issue with your chat as you are on arvixe and they are not the best of hosts. You can look in the hosting forum for my review of them if you wish.

no the chat issues do not go away with it being diabled, what I am experiencing now is that the chat does not work in real time, but i close and open the chat window, then the chat updates and new messages appear. Or if I open and close the main chat window.
my site is expected to grow quickly and eventhough I am not a coder, i need these issues resolved and my site able to handle thousands of members in a few months. I was reading the article on speeding up my phpfox site with servers and I don't understand any of it, replication, memchached etc... maybe phpfox should consider offering a hosted version of phpfox for an annual fee.

Would using COMETCHAT solve these issues? Also If I added cometchat to my phpfox site, what happens to the default chat? Do i need to disable that first?
