This is a small update within our phpFox Community to tell that we have created a new user title for designers called 3rd Party Designers.
If you have applied for the Developer's License and you are a designer releasing themes and templates then please PM us and we will update your forums account.
Thanks.
As of today we have removed the mods that did not meet the Paid Mod Rules in the Paid Mods Section for 1.6.x.
If your mod has been removed and you wish to re-post it according to the new rule, but want to copy the details please PM our forum moderator Jack for him to assist you in this case - this applies to any version(including plugins for v1.1 and 1.5.x).
Thank you for your attention!
As our User-User Support Forums has grown we have had members come and go and some had gone a little too soon to leave another member distress and/or dissatisfied. When I say this, I am talking about our modders in the past. Modders who would release a plug-in just to get a good chunk of a poor mans funding and to run a way from the forums, leaving the buyer angry and broke.
Buyers in the past ordered failing plug-ins, did not receive support or get a rightful refund; so to make it more safe for the buyers of the plug-ins/mods we decided to make a recommendation for new buyers and a Paid Mod Rules for modders to follow.
We have released them as announcement for the phpFox Paid Modifications section.
Having these two announcement out, we hope buyers feel more safe with their modders and that the good modders out there feel confident in providing their plug-in!
So to all you buyers, good luck with your order and plugin; to all the modders, good luck with your clients; and for everyone else who is not considering buying/selling a plug-in from a third party developer have a wonderful day and thank you for following the phpFox Company Blog!
We have now created a new section within our phpFoX Modifications, Themes & Language Packages forums.
It is called Reviews on 3rd Party Developers. The rules when posting a review or posting a reply to a review can be found here.
We hope that this new section will help the community and it's contributors! Let us know if you think we should add anything else within this new section.
With version 1.6.x we have an impressive amount of plug-ins made by third party developers and with version 2 on its way we wanted to give more developers a chance to create plug-ins for the anticipated version. We are therefore testing a new product license. The "Developer's License" is intended for any developer interested in creating a plug-in for our community and for them to have access to our User-User Support Forums and to provide support for their mods. The requirements for a Developer's License are still being discussed as we are still testing the waters.
The basic requirements for now is that the developer has to be active within our User-User Support Forums and provide plug-ins(either for free or for a fee). They also have to provide support for their own plug-ins. If a developer is inactive within the community or they intentionally avoid supporting their plug-ins their privileges are revoked.
Within the forums they will be a part of the User group called "3rd Party Developers - TRIAL". Once they have established themselves within the community and our members are confident in them, the "Trial" will be removed.
To apply for a Developer's License submit your query here.
More information regarding this new license will be announced once we have gathered enough information from both developers and our community.
EDITED 12th March, 2009: The Developer's License can not be sold or transferred to someone else. The Developer's License is designated to you.
