For those that use the phpFox Video Module and want to allow users the ability to upload videos from their computers you will need to install certain programs in order for phpFox to convert these videos so they can be viewed via the Flash Video Player we provide.

In the past I had to install these programs on different operating systems. If you are using Red Hat or Fedora (Linux) here is a great article on how to install these programs from source. Note that in the article they guide you to use "yum". If you don't have "yum" installed you can use "up2date", which is what I used as I didn't have "yum" installed on the particular server I was testing the module on.

If you are using Debian Etch or Ubuntu (Linux) here is a great article on how to install these programs.

I have tested both methods of installing these programs and both worked perfectly.
