Yes, you can always upgrade by paying the difference between the editions.
If I have a other script integrated to my site can I add the chat in that section as well?
Yes, CometChat can run site-wide. You only have to copy the 2 lines of CometChat HTML code to all your site templates.
Do only friends show when they have the who's online or everyone on the site shows?
CometChat by default will show only friends in the "Who's Online" list (best for moderate to large sites). For small sites, you can setup CometChat to show all online users directly from CometChat Admin Panel.
How does the Audio/Video chat plugin work?
Our Audio/Video chat DOES NOT use your server in anyway as it is P2P based. It uses Adobe Stratus servers for connection initialization and the streaming takes place between both computers only. So your server resources are not used during video conversations. You do not need any special hardware or software to use the AVChat plugin. Only PHP + mySQL.

Helped me a lot with the chat did a very good job
Chat module is fine. Just got a problem when i ask support to sync site blocked users and chat blocked users. After they implemented the integration my site crashed and cpu mysql usage boost to 500%. turns out that the query they used to sync is soooo slow i cant even browse the site (im on dedicated server). took me overnight to trace the problem, good thing i have a back-up of the default file and site back to normal.
I hope they can sync this successfully without additional load in the server since this is what they advertised and promised, faster chat and faster website by passing the load to their cometchat service (add-on).
This chat is great if you are looking for standard chat footer for your community. Better than standard phpfox chat.
Please improve your integration to phpfox like the Sync blocked users, privacy settings and my status. Just disable the feature if it'll make your site crash.

Basic Chat Module is fine. But Video Chat and Audio Chat screen shearing are 100000% Flop...Useless.....we lost our money and commitment with our users.
I installed cometchat a month ago, and my users love it.
So what's the problem?
Within a few days of installation, my site started experiencing 'an error connecting to the database!' issues. These failures are happening so frequently now - I count around 20 times a day. In addition, now, once a day, around noon (peak time, my entire dedicated server crashes).
Finally our hosting company helped to analyse the process logs and slow query logs, over the past few days and around the time of server failure. We identified that cometchat was the source.
Of course I contacted cometchat. So far, the only recommendation they have come up with is a free account with pubnub (illegal, because obviously pubnub have stated that the free account should not be used for live sites), and offering me cometservice.
They have refused to be transparent about what configuration/ server requirements are necessary to run cometchat succesfully on your own server.
So, as a note to new buyers, before you buy cometchat:
1) If your site is quite busy (like mine), you will soon start experiencing server failures
2) You need to consider the additional cost of hosting the cometchat externally (at least $9 a month)

Works well and easy to install. I put mine in a block so there are no template edits. No issues on the site with this installed. Site loads well with not much of a decline in speed.

If you want to buy....you make the best choice.
My little VIP´s Social Network it use this too,and Facebook chat it´s work like a charm.
I recomand this.
If cometchat can have Yahoo Messenger chat it will be great 5 star.
I hope they can support it as they can support the facebook and Gtalk.
